Brett Tucker Got Cast on ‘Mistresses’ as an American But That Changed
When He Showed Up On-Set June 28, 2013 by Erin Konrad via DailyActor
Brett Tucker wasn’t always going to play his character on ABC’s Mistresses as an Australian. The character was initially written as an American, but was later changed to use the actor’s own accent.
“I went into the audition as an American, got cast as an American,” Tucker explained in an interview with The Wall Street Journal. “It wasn’t until first day shooting pilot, I was there for hair and makeup and chatting to the show runner. Yunjin [Kim, who plays Karen] suggested that I use my own accent. So we changed the storyline a bit because I prepared to be an American, but the accent really sold everyone on Harry.”
