According to TVLine, Rob Mayes (The Client List) and Jennifer Esposito (Blue Bloods) will be joining the cast of Mistresses for Season 3, set to air this June. Rob Mayes will be playing a character with a "bromantic interest" in Brett Tucker's character, 'Harry'. Jennifer Esposito will be the new series regular after Alyssa Milano's departure and will essentially be the fourth 'mistress' of the series.
Below are re-posted articles from TVLine about said characters. In a recent "Ask Ausiello" of TVLine, some more information was shared regarding the plans for Season 3 including Alyssa Milano's departure and any new characters joining the series. Question: Any intel on how Mistresses plans to address Alyssa Milano’s departure — if at all — in the Season 3 premiere? —Karen Repost of Original TV Line Article written by Michael Ausiello - January 23, 2015 If the Season 2 finale of Mistresses — which ended with Alyssa Milano’s Savi about to bust her ex-husband and her younger sister mid-makeout — had you anxiously covering your eyes, you may want to maintain that position when the delectable sudser returns to ABC this summer. After the announcement that Alyssa Milano was not going to return to Season 3 of Mistresses, ENSTARS caught up with the actress who stated she may return for one episode (if filmed in Los Angeles), but stated that scenario would be highly unlikely.
REPOST OF ORIGINAL EW ARTICLE Written October 31, 2014 by Dalene Rovenstine Earlier this month, fans of ABC’s Mistresses were delighted when they heard that the show had been picked up—then shocked to learn that Alyssa Milano would not be returning to the series. (Milano chose not to move with the show when it relocated to Vancouver move because of her family.) "Sadly, I won't be returning to #Mistresses." Alyssa Milano tweeted this last night following a link to her website with this explanation. After two wonderful seasons in Los Angeles, the studio has decided to shoot season three of Mistresses in Vancouver, Canada for financial reasons. It's with a heavy heart that I have decided I can't relocate. I have two babies under 4. Being a mother and wife comes first and I just can not uproot my children and separate the family by moving away. TV Line reached out to ABC for any comment on this. In their article, they posted: Mistresses Season 2 closed with Milano’s character on the verge of finding ex-husband Harry and her sister Joss in a passionate embrace. Teasing the fallout, exec producer K.J. Steinberg told TVLine, “If and when Savi finds out, it will destroy her. But that’s if and when.” (Read Full Article HERE) Mistresses Daily will be following this story and more on the changes Season 3 now faces.
